Step into Fitness

Just when you thought you were done taking your first steps

Have you given up? Are you trying to figure out where you FIT in? It’s never too late to start, no matter your age. If you’ve never been physically active – seldom workout, or you’re someone who has parted ways with no intentions of returning. Let’s get excited again? Step into fitness with Reebok.

Before moving forward and as a precaution, if you or your family have a history of heart problems, chest pains, or shortness of breath, it’s highly recommended to get a stress test before beginning any exercise routine.

Stress Test

exercise stress test

This is performed by a doctor or trained technician and helps them determine how well your heart handles its workload. As your body works harder during the test, it requires more fuel, and your heart has to pump more blood. The test can show a lack of blood supply through the arteries that go to the heart. This will help determine your exercise strategy and what’s best for you.

Change your mindset

There are two types of mindsets – Growth and Fixed. A person with a growth mindset embraces the challenges, believes that with effort anything is possible, and enjoys learning and taking advice from others. Someone with a fixed mind is just the opposite. They don’t care for change and run from failures so they don’t try new things. They’re comfortable where they are. They’re a person who believes things will happen without their involvement in making it happen. What’s your mindset?

Be Accountable

If you decide to put yourself back in the hot seat with fitness, consider having an accountability partner. One isn’t hard to find. This should be someone you trust to hold you accountable – someone you feel comfortable speaking to on a daily or weekly basis about your struggles, your successes, etc. In the same way, they’re your accountability partner; you can be theirs too.

Goal Setting

  • How much weight are you trying to lose?
  • How how much time can you commit?

TIP #1 – Keep track of your progress in a food and weight loss tracker and journal. Since you’ll also be stepping into healthier dietary changes and eating and preparing foods that you normally may not eat, testing your food sensitivity would be good.

TIP #2 – Measure the different areas of your body that you want to focus on with a body measuring tape. When measuring your stomach area, measure the smallest part of your waist and around your midsection. Give yourself enough time to get your metabolism fired up and going, and then repeat.

You’ve taken a stress test, altered your mindset, made yourself accountable, set goals, and purchased a food and weight loss tracker and journal. You’re finally ready to get started, but you’re stuck. Your workout is put on hold because you realize you don’t have anything to wear. Spring Workout Gear + Extra 20% Off for Military Members! Note: Don’t feel that you have to become a member of a gym or spend a lot of time on physical activity. You need at least 30 minutes, five days a week, but 15 minutes is enough to give you a boost. If you feel like you need alot more than that, go for it, but remember there is such a thing as overtraining syndrome. This is where you become stale because you’ve trained too hard and too long without getting enough time to recover. You may experience muscle fatigue, and you could be more prone to muscle and joint injury.

Possible results of overtraining: Muscle fatigue, muscle, and joint injury, reaching a plateau, tiredness, brain fog, increase in appetite, and weight gain

Win your confidence back

Are you not feeling good in your own body? Do you not have the confidence you desire? Do you overthink things that you know you shouldn’t? If you answered “YES”, you are ready to UNLOCK your social fears.
